If you missed our second webinar in the series on Generative AI for Multilingual Content with Bruno Herrmann, you’ll find a short recap below, along with a link to the recording.
With Bruno’s deep background in the language and content industry, he is ideally suited to guide us through the subject of how to operationalize genAI for multilingual content value.
He frames the issue as being two-fold:
- Putting GenAI into action for content and product management.
- Aligning it with the wider organization.
Bruno explained that the process requires laying out a practical, phased path of
Awareness → Readiness → Effectiveness.
Followed by the value of multilingual data and the new human roles, or job titles, that will be required. There is a paradigm shift that has to happen to make content part of the GenAI plan.
At the center of operationalizing GenAI is the data you already have. The wealth of content already available within the company is often in multilingual formats. All that data can facilitate the training of an AI model.
In the polls we ran as part of the webinar, the following stood out on workflow automation maturity:
- 20% are not automated at all
- 40% are lightly automated
- 20% are heavily automating
To illustrate that there is still work to be done before automating and embracing GenAI. Bruno highlighted a use case in the life sciences industry – a mid-size biotech company. The company was able to go from file-based, transactional localization to data-driven, fueling an AI-powered supply chain operating in 12 languages.
But we’ll let Bruno explain it in more detail to you as it was his client.
